10 Things I Can’t Live Without

We’ve all seen it, the two-toned oceanic and baby blue wall, the gorgeous faces of this generation, and the articles of importance spread out before them; 10 objects these said faces just can’t live without. From newcomer Paul Mescal to legacy in the making Jonah Hill, GQ’s essentials series is a staple Youtube watch for anyone into celebrities, culture, and style.

We’ve all envisioned what we would bring if ever stranded on a desert island, those items we couldn’t part with, on par with man’s best friend and water. So I’ve compiled a list of my very own 10 Things I Can’t Live Without.

  1. Call Me By Your Name novel

This book is and probably always will be my favorite novel. Andre Aciman is certainly my favorite author. He knows exactly how to dig into my subconscious and write about every minuscule thought that I’ve had at one point. Elio in particular has always been special to me as he personifies the push and pull of overthinking and being in love. His youthful and naive tenure is charming and relatable. This cover in particular is so beautiful, and I love to crack this book open from time to time, even just to read a paragraph or two. Every line is saturated in desire and curiosity.

  2. My Fair Morning Always Tote

The Fair Morning Always Tote became my favorite bag the minute it arrived to me. The shape, texture, and weight is crafted so delicately and precisely. It comes with a pocket for easy storage fpr your phone, wallet, or in my case, airpods. I find that it fits everything I need whether for a coffee shop run or visiting the farmers market. They also have exceptional customer service and they’re a brand I will always gravitate back to.

  3. Journal and a pen

Who would I be without journaling? It’s truly changed my life, helped me to reflect, find new perspectives, dive into my deepest desires, and shown me things I don’t think I would’ve discovered otherwise. My go-to journal is the Greenroom journal from Target and the G-2 .5 pens.

  4. Boston Birkenstocks

These have easily become a staple in my wardrobe. They’re the simplest way to step out of the house when you don’t feel like throwing on an entire fit, but you still want to look stylish and ready for the day.

  5. Fleur de Blonde perfume from Urban Outfitters

This scent is so soft and subtle, but once it hits you, you’ll remember it’s smell. It has notes of ambrette, violet, and cashmere musk that make it a nice everyday wear. It’s sweet and light, yet memorable.

  6. Film camera

Film used to scare me, but I’m learning to embrace mistakes through my love of film. It’s a reminder that not everything can be captured, and when things don’t go as planned, it’s okay to let it go. My favorite camera is my Canon AE-1 Program which is a great beginner film camera you can find all over Ebay. My latest purchase has been the Canon Sure Shot Zoom S point and shoot, which is so fun to carry around when I don’t want to distract from what’s in front of me.

  7. Signet ring

A recent purchase, the signet ring from Gorjana engraved with my initials. I love jewelry and don’t think you need a reason to buy yourself something sentimental. I have no family heirlooms so I decided to start my own. How cool is it to think in a generation or two someone in my family will be carrying around the same ring I wear today?

  8. Curated playlists

I love playlists. And I love curating. There’s music for any occasion and it’s nice to be the one to have a playlist for all situations. I’ve been creating playlists based on moods, what I’m feeling, and what I’m wanting to experience, a sort of manifestation technique if you will.

If you’d like to hear my recent playlists, here’s a link to my Spotify.

  9. Magazine subscriptions

My favorite way to stay up to date is by subscribing to my latest favorite magazines. Whether as a digital or physical subscription, I enjoy reading various articles over topics I wouldn’t normally encounter. To save money, I’ll only subscribe to one or two at a time, then switch them out for another magazine for a while. It’s a fun way to broaden your interests and learn something new while supporting the publishing industry.

  10. Mountain Valley Spring Water

Okay, I couldn’t help but actually include water on my list, only because Mountain Valley water has become sort of an obsession of mine recently. It hails from the Ouachita Mountains, covering Arkansas and Oklahoma, which just so happens to be my home base. It’s gotten me through sickness, hangovers, and stomach aches. It’s my holy grail for feeling refreshed and renewed after any catastrophe.
